In 2008 the Christmas City Walkway of Lights started charging five dollars for a season pass to the Walkway of Lights. In previous years the Walkway of Lights had been open to the public on a free will donation basis. The increasing cost of electricity along with the burden of maintaining and upgrading displays made the five dollar per carload charge necessary.
Each motorist who gives a five dollar donation will receive a sticker that is placed on their vehicle's windshield. That sticker entitles that vehicle to unlimited trips through the Walkway of Lights throughout the season.
For those who would rather not pay the five dollar fee, the Walkway of Lights is open free of charge for the general public on December 24th and 25th and on December 31st.
The Walkway of Lights is open from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. nightly from the Saturday before Thanksgiving through New Year's Eve. We hope you enjoyed the 2008 display.
Respectfully,
The Walkway of Lights Committee
